horizon to horizon on S-band. Presently my satellite antennas are only 22
feet high, and I have significantly obstructed S-band reception because of
trees.
Yes, satellite rotors, antennas, and mast mounted equipment tend to be
higher maintenance than HF antennas. But there is a significant performance
advantage to getting satellite antennas higher than all the things that
block S-band reception.
