More Info on Downconverter De-sensing

Tonight (Friday Jan 09 local, UTC Jan 10 0630Z) I have been experimenting
with the de-sensing problem and have found it is very dependent on azimuth
and elevation. It varies by 30 dB depending on pointing location. There is
nothing in the foreground to make the difference, and I have tried
re-routing the cables but that made no difference. Seems worst when the
backside of the uplink yagi is pointing into the junction formed by the
ground and the block wall. A corner reflector??? More experiments coming
soon...

Photo at www.qrz.com, the offset dish is now mounted on the crossboom
instead of the 17-turn helix hidden in the white plastic pipe. The
downconverter is mounted to a bolt on the back side of the dish.

Thanks for the many excellent suggestions received!
