RE: 1.2ghz amplifier - REPLY -

Keith,
I use a DL2AM 1.2Ghz brick on my home QTH and my portable rig. LOVE
it... One point you must note... The brick is not supplied with a heat
sink. The unit does have a big slab of aluminum on the heat surface, but
you MUST add a full ribbed slab of heat sink or you will burn it up... I
did, once..... Philipp makes a 40, 80, & 160 watt unit. I use the 80s...
His e-mail address: prinz.DL2AM@t-online.de His web site: www.DL2AM.de
I think they are even available as a kit... I got mine built...
Just remember the heat sink!!

Subject: [amsat-bb] 1.2ghz amplifier

I am thinking of purchasing a 1.GHz amplifier to increase my uplink from
the 10 watts of the IC-910. Can anyone offer me any suggestions, either
good or bad, as to what to consider, and what to stay away from. I thank
you all in advance, 73, Keith KG2IX
