I'd like to thank al those who replied both on and off the list regarding my
questions about my dish/ uplink etc.
I've built the recommended signal source, and the dish feed was considerably
improved after using it ( focal point changed by approx 40mm.)
I have come to the conclusion my 176 ele crossed yagi is a major factor in
poor uplink performance and this was proved two days ago when trying to
uplink to AO-40.
I have removed the yagi and I'm building one of the "Cheap" designs that
Howard G6LVB recommends so highly, well its actually finished , just need to
do the phasing harness tomorrow. Then I have something to use while i sort
out the main crossed yagi.
Thanks again for all the advice, this bulletin board can be a major source
of information to newcomers, even if it does get off topic on a regular
basis!
So lets get Echo up so we can get another REAL satellite on schedule !
