Moving the transponder 32 db closer to the Earth would do much more to help
technology-deprived hams in whatever country than getting rid of the tracking
computer. You don't really need very much of a computer to track satellites,
but if it is an issue, there are other ways to track a satellite with simple
tools. Generating RF uplink power is a bigger issue for most hams than
obtaining a rudimentary computer is.
