Hi AMSATs,
One of the biggest advantages when having a transponder on the moon is that
you don't need any computer to track it. You just look in the sky and look
for the moon. Then take your antennas and point them to the moon and start
working. This will give amateurs in remote areas, amateurs without computer
skills, or amateurs who have no computer the chance the use it.
And I do not mean the hams in EU or USA...
Next advantage is that it is longer available than the LEOs...
For the builders its a way to increase their technology level
It will also give world wide publicity to the ham community, what we need to
keep our hobby alive.
And it will fill the gap between satellite hams and EME, in terms of station
you need.
So, many things for me to try to make an AROLS (Amateur Radio On Luna
Surface)
