Hi,
I sent this message to the amsat-bb almost five hours ago, and it hasn't
appeared on the BBS. I assume that this indicates that something went
wrong, so I'm sending it again. In the unlikely event that two copies do
appear, I offer my apologies.
After quite some experimenting, and some useful information from ZL2TE
(Sid) I managed to get a couple of packets digipeated through the ISS. The
digi *IS* working. I had to squeeze my transmissions in between the packets
from ZL3UCP and FK8CA who were making use of the PMS. Activity on the PMS
does not prevent traffic through the digi.
Setting "to" parameter as APRS or CQ does not seem to work at present. The
only path that I could get to work was to send to RS0ISS-11, and "via"
nothing. You can see this from the packets below (Tx packet, followed by Rx
packet).
You can also see that the Kenwood radio on board the ISS converts
"RS0ISS-11" to "RS0ISS, RS0ISS-1*,SGATE-11". I imagine that such packets
will not make it to FINDU because they lack "APRS", but I'm not sure of
this. I shall test this by sending directly into the local APRS network.
I used AWGPE and UIView for this test, but will try UISS on the next pass.
Best Wishes
Sil - ZL2CIA (ex PA3HIL)
