G-5400B voltages
I might be having the same problem as Gopal is having. I find that the
output signals from the controller to Nova (via a KCT) are jumping up
and down periodically. The controller seems to be indicating the
correct position (azimuth problem only) of the antennas but the output
from the controller to Nova has the problem. So in the middle of a
tracking, the antenna will start swinging back and forth and losing the
sat. I've tried to twist the ouptut pot back and forth to "wipe" any
dirt out (like one would do with an AF gain control) but to no avail.
I've also tried to reset the pot so that the max position is not at the
end of the pot's travel, but no luck. So my questions are:
1. Is this merely a problem with the output pot on the controller?
I do have a spare 5400B controller that I can put inline.
2. Is this a problem with the rotator?
I don't think so since the controller to rotator seem real stable and
right on.
3. Can I replace the 5400B with a 5500B controller but still use the
5400B rotator?
I do have a 5500B controller which I'd rather use than the spare 5400B
controller.
In the meantime I just have to manually track the LEOs and hope to
resolve the problem before AO-40 is back on the air. Tnx for all the
