Have a look at Chapter 7, "Lunar Trajectories", in
Fundamentals of Astrodynamics by Bate, Mueller and White.
They focus on the patched-conic approximation. This
would not have been good enough for an Apollo mission,
but is more than enough for feasibility studies.
