I've used PVC for a few different home-brew antennas over the years, but 
have since gone back to wood.  While it's easy to put together like tinker 
toys and is waterproof, the stuff sags like crazy over any horizontal 
distance.  I've always heard it'll suffer from UV radiation, too, if it's 
out in the sun indefinitely.

I'd stick with wood.
