Re: Longevity-sat proposal



What is the upper limit of the Van-Allen radiation belts? Human space flight
stays below 300 km because of radiation and 800 km orbits are considered
practical LEO orbits because the radiation density increases too rapidly above
that altitude.  Of course anything above the Van-Allen belts will be subject to
solar radiation and that will limit its life.
