Has anyone gotten MixW to work with WISP without using a hardware TNC

I have UI-View working with MixW using a Com Port emulator but cant get
The same setup to work with WISP.

Please Note : I have a very late start in the activity because of the
fact I am on the west coast and have a 
minimum dish elevation of 20 degrees. This is why I think I miss most of
the activity during the activity weekends.
