RE: Washington in 2004? No %#&* way!

Dave,

So sorry that you feel this way. With the exception of those areas that
some of us work, the security measures in and around the DC area are very
non-intrusive. In fact I was on the Metro today and I could not have told
the difference between now and pre-9/11.

Having lived here since 1989, I can attest that this is a wonderful city
with lots of free or very cheap activities. I can tell you that tourism is
on the rise since 9/11. I don't think this would happen if security
measures were that bothersome to folks.

Please re-consider coming to visit us.

One concern I do have is as close to the Pentagon as the location is, all
the antennae, mobile, arrow and otherwise may draw undue attention from a
variety of police forces.

I don't know about other people, but I refuse to submit myself to "security"
measures in place in and around our nation's captial. Bad choice, folks.
Very bad choice.
