RE: 2004

Gary,

The 2004 AMSAT AGM will be held at the Crowne Plaza Crystal City hotel just
across the Potomac River from Washington DC. To quote from Frank Bauer's
presentation to the Board...

"The Crowne Plaza is a beautiful facility and is in a fantastic location
right off a metro stop. As such, it is conveniently assessable from all 3
major airports. Countless shops and restaurants are located in the Crystal
City Underground, just below the hotel. All major downtown DC attractions
are located just a few metro stops away.

"The Washington DC area is filled with many exciting (and free) places to
visit. With the host hotel in Crystal City and the metro 1 block away, there
are endless possibilities for groups and individuals.

"The cornerstone of our planned program would be a combined AMSAT/ARISS trip
to the newest Smithsonian Air and Space Museum facility near Dulles
Airport---the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. This very exciting facility will
house many large and unique artifacts that cannot be adequately displayed in
the Air and Space Museum on the mall. Highlights include the Space Shuttle
Enterprise, a Spacelab Module (the one where Owen Garriott, W5LFL, worked on
STS-9), the SR-71 Blackbird, the Dash 80 prototype for the Boeing 707, the
Concorde, and the B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay. Several AMSAT-related
artifacts are also planned for exhibition including the Microsat Mechanical
Test Model and the PCSat Thermal Model."

Exact dates and other details will be announced as soon as the details can
be worked out with the hotel.
