With regard to sorting out RS-12 and RS-13 contacts, you can narrow it down
a lot by checking dates.  My log shows lots of RS-12 contacts (and no RS-13
contacts) up until 15 Jan 1998.  Then I went off chasing HF DX for a while.
When I can back to work LEO's again I show my first RS-13 contact on 7 Jun
2000.  There were no RS-12 contacts after that date.

If you search the AMSAT archives, you may find out when they switched over.
Once RS-13 was activated, I don't think the RS-12 transponders were used
very much.
