Fellow Satellite DXers,
If some of you out there have an opportunity to work the Christmas Is.
expedition, VK9XW,
PLEASE ask them to at least give a try for N.A. at their AOS on Oct. 8th,
2003, 1500 UTC.
The rocks and palm trees mentioned on their website might not actually be
as much of a problem as they think it is. Sometimes things which appear
to block RF actually do not. This is such a rare opportunity for
satellite DXers to work a new one and it may be a very long time until
someone goes there again with satellite equipment. It's also amazing
what CW can do even if SSB cannot get through. Just ask that they give
it a try. They and we might be pleasantly surprised at the results.
They will have very favorable low squint angle. Thank you for any help
in working a new one. Much appreciated.
73 to all.... Frank, K0BLT
