ITAMSAT 10th anniversary!

Today ITAMSAT IO-26 succesfully marks it's 10th year in orbit.
IO-26, the first italian amateur satellite was launched on the 23rd
September 1993
from the European Space Port in Kourou on board an Ariane 4.
Built by a team of amateurs from ARI and AMSAT-Italy, the spacecraft
is designed on the Microsat technology developed by AMSAT-NA and allowed
hundreds of amateurs from more than 85 countries to exchange messages and
files using the store-and-forward capabilities of the main payload.
Due to power limitation and increasing difficulties in reloading the
high level code, ITAMSAT is now in the safe (MBL) mode, trasmitting reduced
telemetry and status information.
The beacon frequency is 435.808 MHz in PSK mode, and the data can be
decoded using the cmd26.exe program available on the ITAMSAT web site

73s and happy birthday!
