[amsat-bb] learning question

Good Morning,
Does anyone know of a website that I can go and read about sat deployment.
I want to know how a sat is deployed from a rocket and how is the sat put
into it orbit accurately?
Is the given orbit assigned or pre determined?
Or is it purely guesswork?

I was going to make this another one of my dumb questions.
