Theoretically, all you need is proof of your citizenship.
While the Authorities will often accept any reasonable
identification (like a driver's license), they can - and
sometimes do - demand proof of citizenship.

In times of international tension (e.g. now), a passport is
a good idea for any international travel. If you have any
doubts contact the Canadian consulate, embassy, or
tourism office. That's what they're there for.
