ARISS--The Budget

This is all very Humanitarian but i dont think amsat was created to take
the
place of parents or do guidance counciling for students on what they
should
do with their education. Its purpose for creating communication
satellites.
I think that somehow we have drifted away from that and it shows.

Ariss probably started out as a good idea for promotion of amsat but has
somehow ended up doing more for nasa/arrl/ and whoever else you care to
mention.

As far as how many children its 'touched' , well thats wonderful but it
dont
launch satellites , btw that argument dont work to well i can say the
same
thing about the welfare state and how many children it has helped but we
all
know they would have been just as well off or better without it.
from what i know of children (raising 4 of them myself as a single dad
and
having all their friends around constantly) they like technology anyway
and
you dont have to prod them twards it.

I think ariss funding should be redirected tward a satellites, say
Eagle.
maybe its time a questionair gets sent out as to what direction amsat
should take in the future. It will certainly seperate the wheat from the
chaff.
