Today I tested my Field Day set-up in my commo trailer.
Worked W0EOZ at 11:30 AM CDT with five watts output easily. (I know there
was very little transponder activity today vs Field Day).
Turned the "barefoot" FT-847 down to full ccw (lowest) RF output. Heard my
return signal very acceptable. Only 1 "digit" appeared on power output
meter.
SET-UP:
FT-847 to a crossed 9 element yagi, 15 FT 9913 coax.
AZ-EL control G-5400, KCT / QT5.02
FT736R, Noise = S0, Beacon = S9
15 ft 9913
SSB D/C 432 mhz, 3 ft 9913.
G3RUH patch antenna, homemade wood mount.
1.2 meter fiberglass dish
Same G5400 AZ / EL, with BIG counterweights.
Umbrella stand mount with large concrete blocks, and 2 X 6's.
