AO-40 Helix Feed ...How many turns ???

Well I am happy to report I am back up on AO-40 again with full sky
coverage now.
I just worked NN6T, JA1CG and VK2AWD on CW using a 24 X 33 Inch BBQ dish
and 5 turn helix tin can feed.
I removed the dipole and designed a mount to add my favorite helix feed.

I was wondering if there is a optimum amount of turns a helix feed
should have.
I had a few people claiming that 2 1/2 to 3 turns is optimum. Is this
pretty much a rule of thumb ??
I am presently using 5 turns, should I scale it back to 2 to 3 turns ??
