I am a poor one to comment since not being on mode-L for over a year now.
When I was briefly on mode-L2 (1269) my 9.5w at the 45-elem loop yagi
(20dBi linear) was only marginal on USB...about 1 s-unit over the noise
floor!  This represents 950 w EIRP.

My understanding is mode-L1 is better.

I am aiming at using my 8-foot dish (28 dBi @ 1.2G) using a dual-band patch
feed with 14w* (max)...8830w EIRP!  But I may put back up the 45-elem loop
yagi with 14w sooner.  The big dish needs controller work to make the az-el
drive operational.

To answer you, I suspect you want more EIRP but why not try it if you have
everything now.
