The analogy breaks down there, because for 10 bucks you can make that BBQ
dish a 3ft dish with a circular feed. Chicken wire, a loop of wire, a tin
can and a connector will get you in the neighborhood of 5 db. (No quibbles
on the number, please....)
I'd trade that Yugo for a Mustang for 10 bucks every single time.
