YES---I have done it and the result was fantastic.
I highly recommend it. I put the G3RUH patch feed on a BBQ
that I screened with 1/4" mesh screen from Ace Hardware. I also extended
the sides out to effectively make it a 39" dish. You can use 6" wide strips
of screen to get it to lay flat.
It hears 5.5 Db of sun Noise and 2-3 Db of AO-40 Transponder noise floor at
full Apogee with squint under 10 degrees.
