Re: Question on Uni-Trac 2000

James:

Those are external control ports. For now you can leave them unconnected.
As I understand the ECP ports were originally there to use with a relay and
some additional circuitry to switch polarity on an antenna.

On my system I built a test circuit which corresponds to the two lights in
the software interface. I found some documentation on the ECP in the
NovaTune documentation - (NovaTune was designed by the Dave Lamont also) -
You can get the NovaTune manual at http://novatune.webhop.org/ .

In each .SAT file there are two settings for the ECP ports - the first
setting is used for AOS and the second is for LOS. The settings are 2-bits
binary on Uni_Trac (NovaTune has more bits on their ECP port). So a "3"
turns on both ports, "2" turns on the left and "1" turns on the right and
zero turns them both off. Hook a voltmeter between one of them and the
ground wire with them and then click on the software ECP LED's and watch
the power go on and off the wire.
