Re: Saturday Night at the Movies

Correct on "Contact", it was a Collins KWM-2A in fact. Also, in the TV
series "ALF" , the alien Alf tried to use amateur radio equipment, Clegg
gear I believe, to 'contact home'.

Also, the movie, "Man Without A Face", Mel Gibson played a retired teacher
mentoring a young boy during Summer vacation. In the original cut, he and
the boy were seen operating the station. In the final cut, all you see is a
wall full of QSL cards.

"The Anderson Affair" (???) was the name of the movie. Sean Conery was the
lead 'bad guy'. Dyan Cannon was also in it; I was a mear 16 years young and
maddly inlove (lust?) with her.

Not a movie, but the current Crate & Barrel catalog (the XYL's, not mine)
has a 'note holder' device holding a QSL card with a Finish call sign.
