RE: Cross Boom

I use a thick wall (abt 4mm) Polyester tube that I bought from a miltary
surplus establishment a few years ago. the OD is about 40mm. Its been
excellent, with one added benefit that it flexes slightly in the wind. This
reduces (I think) impact load on the rotator when it gets hits by a gust of
wind.

Hello All
I have the rotor, tower and antennas, now I need a none conductive cross
boom. What are some of you using for this purpose? Pole vaulting pole? Wood
inside PVC?
