Hi Folks
The reason why a 70cms IF is not used for 23cms is that the third
harmonic of the IF is too close to the desired frequency to be
filtered. Remember filters at these frequencies don't have the
capability to remove such a signal.
A similar problem occurs with a 28MHz IF, the image is only 56MHz away.
If you were to compare the 28MHz IF version with the 2m IF version you
would see some extra filtering. I think that 50MHz would be a usable
frequency for an IF also.
Please note that US customers can now order DB6NT products directly from
DB6NT in Germany and hence save money.
