I thought it might be desirable to have a multi-channel FM up to single
channel FM down because it would allow simple HT to HT comms and allow a
single more powerful downlink that anyone with a scanner could listen to. It
might be a good way to attract new hams AND AMSAT members. Maybe on another
one : )
