Congratulations and welcome to SO-50! Since SO-50's downlink is only 250mw
it sounds like your uplink is desensing your downlink - you should be able
to hear yourself - I usually uplink to SO-50 with 20 watts or less, and
have used an Yaesu FT-530 HT at 5 watts on the stock rubber duck.
