Oddity in AO-40 Beacon Today

Howday all,

Maybe it's normal, but today I noticed what seems like an oddity in the
beacon. A couple of times, the beacon went from its modulated carrier to
just a solid carrier. It just happened right around MA55 or so at 22:36
UTC. It happened about 15 minutes prior to that too. Squint is about 26
degrees right now. It was never a question of losing or not hearing the
tones. It was just a single, solid tone.

Is this normal?
