Although Im still in the process of getting my 1st station running, it seems
sensible (*before* it breaks), to use a small reliable source located
independantly away from rig and ant, to receive and measure a ref. sig. If
no source avail. then how about rms noise from sun?
After this, such probs with system as yours can be diagnosed useing this ref
without relying on satelites / wx / pointing acc.
Your prob. sounds like dry joint, or shorting > reconnect everything and
test again.
Dave.
