Hi All,
A succesfull cross-band QSO was made on AO40 orbit 1020
jan 20-2003 between Amato i6PNN and i8CVS at 16:07 UTC
and with iT9UJY at 16:13 UTC
Amato i6PNN was uplinking in L band and he was receiving
simultaneously in S and K band.
Amato was retransmitting in S band the SSB signals received
in K band from i8CVS and iT9UJY
Both SSB signals where readible by i8CVS and iT9UJY above the
noise of the i6PNN receiving system + noise added by the i8CVS
and iT9UJY S band receiving systems.
For 24 GHz i6PNN is using a 60 cm dish and a circularly polarized
feed with home brew low noise preamplifier and low noise home
brew converter all wave guide input and output connected.
i6PNN reports that he is satisfied by the results of the above test
and he like skedules with more stations for cross-band QSOs or
for in band 24 GHz QSOs in the next few days.
73" de i8CVS Domenico
