Re: Comparing sat rigs

I apologize to anyone I misled and withdraw my comment that the cw monitor
on the FT-847 does not work in ssb mode. Normally, I have operated with cw
transmit and usb receive. I find I don't normally need the greater
selectivity of the cw mode and the wider passband lets me listen to ssb
signals as well. The cw monitor does not work in this mode. But it does
work fine in cw rx mode.

My only other comment on the 847 is that it seems to lack VOX which was
really only of interest to me for hf psk etc. No big deal.

Thanks Tony and others for correcting me.

Mal, NP2L
