Question - A0-40 uplink power?

Group

As we all know, uplink power requirments for AO-40 depends on the antenna
and mode being used. On CW, the mode I work the most, my uplink antenna ( 20
x 2 KLM ) on 70cm does a fair job with 40 watts and favorable squint angle.
But with
SSB my uplink is an S-unit above the noise at best.

The coax is LMR400 and there's about 75 feet of it so one can asssume that
theres about 3db loss or 20 watts at the antenna. The downlink antenna,
N3IYR's 3ft dish works very well.

My question is - with my particular up-link set-up, should I expect more
from my signal or are the numbers about right for AO-40 at apgee? I have
heard several ops say they're running similar antennas and power levels on
the uplink with much stronger signals resulting on the downlink - Is it time
to change the coax?
