Re: G-5400B vs G-5500

If my memory serves me, I believe that the azimuth of the G-5500 has limit
switches where as the G-5400 uses a mechanical stop. This may become an
issue if you are running a fully automated tracking system for the digital
birds and not always watching it.
I ended up installing a set of micro limit switches in my G-5400 after a
faulty rotor cable caused the rotor to during a pass, run up against the
mechanical stop to the point that the stop broke loose. My rotor was then
free to wind around until all of the antenna cables where completely wrapped
around the mast and bend the antennas.

If you are always going to be around to run your set-up, then having limit
switches would not be as much of an issue.
