FW: Re: FT-736R

SSB was whom I was referring to as a distributor. They told me it had
been a LONG time since they had sold any, and were no longer supporting
or offering the Mutek boards. This was about a year ago, so if they're
STILL on their web site, that's really poor! They gave me the
impression that they didn't actually stock them, just acted as a point
of purchase.

I gave up on Mutek after numerous e-mails. So its good news that
someone has acquired the business, hopefully they'll ramp up SOON, it
sounds like it's a one man show if they're expecting availability around
February! Not sure I'd send $$ until I could be sure the product will
ever really be available. Especially considering the high cost of the
product and what it costs to send them international funds plus you have
no recourse if they go bust again.

Unfortunately, I was so disappointed I sold my 736. Maybe I should look
for another one once Mutek is available again.

Their website at http://www.mutekrf.freeserve.co.uk/ is advertising a
move,
that the previous owner has sold the business. New address and phone
to be posted 'Real Soon Now' . Of course there's no date on the site to
give any idea of how old the announcement is :-). Maybe a UK member
can provide some insight ?

Have you tried SSB Electronics, their US dealer ? Their website is at
http://www.ssbusa.com/mutek.html . They may still have boards, at
least they're still showing them on the website :-).
