Greetings SAT fans,
I have a DEMI 144-2400RX converter and use the SSBT saftey bias
tee from same. As this is the first downconverter I have used, I was not in a
regular practice of checking my coax connections. I put power into the SSBT
no less than 3 times. Between the SSBT and the TS-790A power backoff, it
saved the converter. Well worth the money. Haven't put power into it since,
as I have a routine to check the coax connected to the rig now, but who knows
in the future. Absolute must have item. Imagine running home to grab a grid
expedition station on UO-14 after working AO-40 late the evening before. A
little carelessness and POOF! Its easy to do, particularly if you run a one
touch automated station.
