This is an excellent comment.
Think of how the interest in amateur radio networking if we could use
our allocations for well maintained networks that are legally required
to be spam and pr0n free!
Really, the issue isn't technology, it's the fact that this realm still
requires extensive experimentation and expertise. Make the equipment as
easy to get as an MFJ tnc and you'll see this arena explode with
activity first from existing amateurs, and then those who join the hobby
because of the really cool things you can do with your computer.
