The "unlicensed radio amateurs" of the local community wireless organization are
doing some very impressive grassroots networking using WiFi technology. While
our static Ampr.org system sees little change, they're turning on new processes and
using state of the art tools and programs. We might be able to send a few
Email messages - they're doing streaming video. Now they're planning how
they can use the system they're developing to support the community in
times of emergency or disaster.

We should strive to leverage the technology boom that's available with the
WiFi equipment and provide gentleman's respect and protection for their
networks.

What we really need to be doing is leveraging SS and other modern
technologies on the other VHF and UHF amateur frequencies which are
far too quiet.
