I dont think it is a good idea to command AO-7 into mode A as the beacon on
29 MHz is very weak despite a good directional antenna. And there is noone
there in the pass band.
Signals are much stronger on 145 MHz and there is also some traffic when it
defaults into mode B. We ought to be able to coexist peacefully with other
(scarce) users of the 432 MHz uplink segment. So far I have not heard of
anyone being QRM:ed
