Wideband FM ATV on 2400 MHz

One of the well known ATV guys here in Central California near San
Luis Obispo has asked for a frequency in the 2430 MHz area for a link.
He has the concern of the satellite and weak signal community to ask
before ordering crystals. I feel compelled to respond. Two modes
seem affected: 2304 and 2401 MHz. Secondly, region one has moonbounce
activity to be considered but I believe this to be in the 2330 MHz area.
So far am I correct?
The 13 cm bandplan indicates 2430 is available but of course, is
there other HAM RADIO activity on that frequency? Of course, clobbering
unlicensed services is fair play just as long as the weak signal and
satellite services are left alone.
This proposed ATV is very a wideband signal, +\- 8 MHz (FM).
Comments and some historical overview views most welcome.
