I was also able to hear RS-15's CW beacon on an overhead pass with just a
10m twinlead j-pole hung between a second story and a nearby tree. I had
a friend with a 10/15/20m beam verify it, and it indeed dropped in pitch
and he had to swing his beam around when it went overhead, so it does seem
like that's what we heard. (I think i've also heard an unmodulated beacon
cycle off/on with a period of about 5 seconds, but am less certain about
this data.) I seem to have about the same question as everyone else here:
Any idea how much power it would take to get into it reliably on 2m with
a 6dBi horizontally polarized beam? If/when i can hear my own downlink,
then i can talk about possible skeds.
