Hello Bill,
I am planning automated control now. Here are my considerations:
need a tracking program for the PC like Instantrack V1.5
need the Yaesu G5400 or the newer G-5500 AZ/El rotator system and
cables to the shack.
need additional hardware like the UNI-TRAC 2000 system for 260$ from
spectrum Int. 1-978-263-2145
The UNi-trac will not only steer the az/el rotator but can also talk
to the radio FT847 or IC-910H on their serial port for doppler
correction, all under control of the Instantrack program.
Nothing needs to be added inside of the PC.
The KC tracker is a ISA card installed in the PC. Many modern
PC's do not have a ISA card slot for the KC tracker.
