Hi Kevin WA6FWF,

Beginning fron RUDAK off the L1 and L2 were very clean and without any
warble everytime up to this night on orbit 887

L2 is still about 6 dB weaker than L1 using the same EIRP

This night during orbit 887 from 01:19 UTC , MA 218 and squint 30 degs ? up
to 02:25 UTC , MA 233 and squint 22 degs ? it was possible to made good
and long QSOs without QSB and using L1 with : iK3VZS, DJ9PC, i5UXJ and
OH2GV

If the ALON/ALAT were 53/30 the above QSOs were impossible to
be made in L mode so i believe that ALON is moving slowly to 330 degs
as expected.

During the above QSOs in L1 mode sometime LEILA come on and
started to sound constantly for minutes and it was necessary for us
to QSY everytime to 5 KHz down.

The L1 band receiver was not desensed at all by LEILA because using
L1 band our QSOs were even possible and readable above the LEILA signal
level.

Looking on my panoramic receiver and after any QSY to 5 KHz belove
LEILA i ralized that LEILA was continuing to send signal for several
minutes probably because it was receiving strong RADAR signals
on 70 cm

It was very strange to understand because only Europe,Africa and part
of Est was on range of AO40 at that time.

Using U band uplink and 15 turns helix RHCP my downlink was very strong
without QSB

If LEILA was busy with the above job as seen on my panoramic receiver,
it was possible to increase power in U band and get the same beacon signal
level for a very long time.

In normal conditions LEILA come on in a few seconds if the U band
signal is translated with less than 10 dB from maximum beacon level.
