A white lithium grease will work well for the gears and bearings. Lust make
sure it is water proof!

I would change the bearings out since you have it apart. You can get a bag
with enough to have a bunch left over for around $5.00. You will see that
there aren't a full race of bearings in the rotor. When you put the new
ones in, just fill up the race (add more than what you had) and make sure
that you have them VERY well greased. Make sure that when you put the
retainer in that you have the split to the bottom.
When you put it back together, (after you clean it all up) make sure that
you put a small bead of RTV on the case split ONLY on the top and 2 sides.
Don't put any on the bottom.
I would recommend that you put the 2 halves together dry and run a small
drill bit in the hole in the bottom and make it just a bit bigger. The hole
is located in the middle of the bottom in the split where the 2 cases come
together. This will let any water and moisture drain out. Make sure that
you put never seze or something like that on ALL of your bolting so they
won't rust and freeze in place once you put it all back together.
If anyone wants any more info or tips on keeping their rotors in good
shape, just through the questions out and I'll see if I can answer them for
you.
