RE: FodTrack use with Windows 2000

Hi George, just e few ideas (I'm using Win 2000, but not FodTrack)

1	Although it seems that FodTrack installed correctly, DON'T COUNT
ON IT,... :-) (unless off course you know for SURE that FodTrack
is 100% compatible with Win2000)
The ultimate thrill of installing Win 2000 (and definitely the
most time-consuming part) is to collect all the correct drivers
for your system afterwards :-)

2	Check the settings on that printer port !
First, check documentation for FodTrack, if it specifically
requires either EPP or ECP or other, AND if ECP, which DMA number
In case of ECP, ECP is also using a DMA number, check (via
Control/Panel under system), which DMA is assigned to your ECP
printerport.

I would not be surprised, if there are a zillion other things to check
:-)

Subject: [amsat-bb] FodTrack use with Windows 2000

I am trying to migrate my Ham radio programs to a new operating system,
Windows 2000. Although FodTrack appears to install without a glitch, I
am
unable to make it operate my G-5400 rotator control in the calibrate
mode.
Manfred, XQ2FOD writes saying that he has had reports from users telling
him
that it works in their Windows 2000 setups. We suspect that it has to
do
with allowing the parallel port to directly access interface without
interference from a driver. It was working fine with Windows 95 and the
same port served tracking as well as a printer and a zip drive through a
switch box. The bios allows "normal" as well as "ECP" and "EPP" and I
tried
them all. Appreciate any help I can get on this one.
