Wow, I wish I had time to read all of it.  But I got my one useful "sound
byte"  That is:

  The Apollo Computer ran at 1 MHz and the flight software to get to the
  moon and back fit in 16k of memory.

(Maybe the actual flight was more, but I got that far in the reading and
stopped...)
