AO-11 report

Hi Clive,

Yesterday 31 augustus 2002 I received the S-band Beacon of AO-11 and focused
on the two sidebands around the main carrier. There were two good passes one
of 56 degrees elevation and the other of 33 degrees. I heard only a single
tone and no (weak) data modulation. I wonder if the tone is realy FM? The
spectrum does think about some weak AM modulation of the carrier.
I think its better to try do this experiment again with a higher elevation
angle (80 degrees or more). Elevation angles of 80 degees or more are not
frequent over here at resonable times, but the signals of the sat. will be
much better. Maybe some other stations (with bigger a dish) can also try.
